Derek Van Barham received his MFA in Acting from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and his BFA from the University of Mississippi (with a minor in Southern Charm). He has continued training at The Annoyance Theatre, iO Chicago, and Second City. Derek first appeared with The Ruckus as The Man in Floss in Little Triggers, and has recently worked with Red Tape Theatre, The Fine Print Theatre Co., The Plagiarists, The Cornservatory, and Pride Films and Plays (where he is also an ensemble member). He can be seen improvising in Chicago with Blanket Jackson (Playground Theatre) and the gentle gentlemen of ThoraBirch. He is the founder of Crush Dance Collective, and can be heard pontificating about pop-culture on the regular as a part of This Must Be Pop, a weekly podcast. Derek lives in a big hippie commune, adores new people, and will eventually write more.
